Begin by lightly sanding the entire pot surface with fine sandpaper. This creates tiny scratches that give the paint something to grip — this one step dramatically improves how long your paint job lasts. Wipe away all dust with a slightly damp cloth. Let dry.
Take your pot outdoors or to a well-ventilated space. Lay newspaper underneath. Hold spray can approximately 30 centimeters from pot surface. Apply first thin coat using smooth sweeping side-to-side motion. Do not try to cover completely in one coat — thin coats are always better. Wait 20 minutes. Apply second coat. Wait 30 minutes. Apply third coat if needed for full coverage.
